Village Board Places Referendum on Electrical Aggregation on March Primary Ballot

Preparations Begin for Snowfall Anticipated During Overnight Hours of Friday, January 27th

A snow event is anticipated during the overnight hours of Friday, January 27th. To prepare for this event, the Public Works Department began anti-icing operations on Thursday morning and continued into Friday.  As you may know, anti-icing involves spraying supermix (a combination of beet juice, salt brine, and calcium chloride) on primary streets in the Village.  This prevents snow and ice from bonding to the pavement. Roadways that have been treated will have a striped appearance that may last for as long as two weeks depending on the weather and traffic.

Gurnee Police to Recognize Injured Officers

Gurnee, IL – Police work can be dangerous and officers occasionally suffer serious injuries in the performance of their duties. On Monday night, January 23, 2012, the Gurnee Police Department will recognize five officers who have endured serious injury while arresting criminal offenders. The officers will receive the department’s Purple Heart award at Monday’s Village Board meeting at Village Hall, 325 N. O’Plaine Road. The meeting begins at 7:30 PM.
